Using Rubrica
at your school.

Who is Rubrica for?

Rubrica is being developed for Kenyan schools using competency-based education. It brings together teaching preparation, assessment, learner records and school responsibilities, with published progress and communication for parents.

How does curriculum inform planning?

The grade, learning area, strand and sub-strand lead to specific learning outcomes. Those outcomes guide the scheme of work, lesson activities, resources and assessment methods, with references for supported curriculum content.

Who reviews teaching documents?

Teachers prepare schemes and lesson plans for review by their assigned Head of Department or school leader. Approved or published documents return to draft as a new version when revised.

How do parents receive progress?

The intended workflow is for the school to publish assessment results and release reports for families linked to the child. Learning areas, levels, teacher feedback and evidence give those results context. Teacher conversations provide a place to discuss progress.
